Muratie Melcks - Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz
MURATIE * Best Seller*
Melck's Cabernet Sauv - Shiraz
The Muratie Melck’s Blended Red 2014 is a blend of Shiraz (47 %), Merlot (36 %), and Cabernet Sauvignon (17 %). The grapes are hand harvested and made in a combination of stainless steel tanks and open fermenters and is elegantly oaked.
Tasting Note : Aromas of sweet berries, chocolate and spice are followed by an elegant mouthful of lush black fruit, some stewed plums and hints of cloves. Silky tannins add backbone to the fruit bomb whilst subtle oak adds texture and a touch of weight and fresh acidity makes for a clean, lengthy finish.
Food Pairing : A drink-with-everything type of wine, it will be a good partner with a homemade burger or a rich and savoury spaghetti bolognaise.
WINNER OF BEST VALUE WINE 2013
Awarded the Platter’s 2013 Superquaffer of the Year Award
“In an ongoing focus on value for money, Platter's identifies a number of entry-level wines which are exceptionally drinkable and well priced. The best of these, like the 5 star candidates, go into a second round of “blind” tasting (without sight of the label) to select the Superquaffer of the Year. For the first time since 2007, the ultra-easy sipper of the year is a red wine – Melck’s Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon by Muratie Wine Estate.” Extract from media release launching the Platter’s SA Wines 2013
